“Illiterate Adults all around the world”
Today an estimated 758 million adults around the world cannot read, write or do math at a basic level. These adults don’t have access to quality schools or teachers. The millions of qualified teachers required to solve this problem simply don’t exist.
AutoCognita is a literacy app for mobile devices that empower adults to teach themselves basic reading, writing, math, and life skills.
“Constructivist Learning Theory”
Learners spend time actively engaged in learning
Learners spend time actively engaged in learning as opposed to passively listening to the teacher lecture. Every lesson requires learners to do something – read, write, speak, listen.
Learning is presented as a process of active discovery with the necessary tools and resources. In order to provide learners with resources, we build educational tools for active discovery.
Learners use and test ideas, skills, and information through relevant activities. We design activities that allow students to learn through experiment and play.
The curriculum provides scaffolding which helps students get from one level to the next. Each lesson builds upon skills learned in the previous lesson for learners can progress through the curriculum at their own pace.
