SEATTLE – Amazon is donating 8,200 laptops to students in Seattle Public Schools who need them to continue their education while at home during the statewide school closure ordered by Gov. Jay Inslee to slow the spread of coronavirus.

The donation, worth an estimated $2 million, will provide laptops directly to students who do not have access to a computer at home so they can participate in those parts of continuous learning that call for online access. The donation is permanent, and students will not have to return the laptops.
