“Nearly 70 per cent schools in the state do not have a satisfactory pupil teacher ratio (PTR) as prescribed in the Right to Education Act, revealed the Annual Status of Education Report (ASER) for Assam. The analysis is based on data from government schools in 21 districts of the state.
Across India, the percentage of children aged between 15 and 16 years who were out of schools was found to be 16.8 in 2013. The same statistic was 19.8 percent in the case of Assam in 2013.”
