As the school year comes to an end, many educators are realizing that it’s hard to find focus and stay passionate in times of disaster and uncertainty. This pandemic has disrupted education at every level and many are predicting that the education industry will never be the same. Nearly 300 million students have been impacted globally by Covid-19, and educators had to immediately pivot to provide online learning overnight.
The speed of school closures and the rapid move to distance learning allowed little time for proper planning and training. Educators weren’t allotted time for reflection on the impact of virtual learning on their students and their own social-emotional health………………………
The Flexible Learning Strategies for Out of School Children programme is a UNESCO initiative with the aim of supporting inclusive and quality education for every child in the region. Our goal is to reach the remaining and most vulnerable 5% of children with no access to education in the region and support quality improvements in learning for every child.
